Most awaiting Sankranthi holidays have started now. 10 days of holidays, 3 days of festival and a week full of celebrations in the village with colourful rangolis, friends, relatives, traditions, awesome delicacies and what not..??? Sankranthi is the most famous colourful and entertaining Telugu festival that brings lot of joy and masti in life. Our 2 Telugu states celebrate this harvest festival in different styles. Each day of the festival is celebrated by preparing different authentic and delicious dishes. 

So, for this Sankranthi, I have decided to present the most authentic, delicious and traditional recipes of Andhra, Rayalaseema and Telangana to you all.

Today I am sharing a typical, mouthwatering, tasty Chicken Fry recipe "KONASEEMA KODI VEPUDU" that is cooked in Konaseema (East Godavari District, Andhra Pradesh). Start your cooking by marinating Chicken in curd, red chilly powder, turmeric powder, salt and ginger garlic paste for 15 min. Add marinated chicken to a pan and cook it by covering the lid for 13 minutes in medium flame and low flame. Take out the chicken and keep aside. Now add oil to the pan and saute onion, green chillies and curry leaves. Add cooked chicken, red chilly powder, garam masala, dhaniya powder and jeera powder and mix well. Add dry coconut powder and coriander leaves, saute once and dish out. Now the tasty, mouthwatering Konaseema Kodi Vepudu gets ready to serve. This is a starter / appetizer dish.

INGREDIENTS : 
For Marination : 
200 grams Chicken
1/2 cup Curd
1/2 tsp Red Chilly powder
1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
Salt to taste
1/2 tsp Ginger garlic paste

For Fry : 
2 tbsp Oil
1/2 cup Onion
2 Green Chillies
Curry leaves
1/4 tsp Red chilly powder
1/4 tsp Dhaniya powder
1/4 tsp Garam masala
1/4 tsp Jeera powder
1 tsp Dry coconut powder
Coriander leaves
Little water

METHOD : 
1) In a bowl, add chicken, curd, red chilly powder, turmeric powder, salt and ginger garlic paste.
2) Marinate chicken for 15 minutes.
3) Take a pan and add this marinated chicken and add little water.
4) Cover the lid and cook for 10 min. on medium flame.
5) Open the lid, mix once and cook again for 3 min. on low flame by covering the lid.
6) Take out the chicken and keep aside.
7) Add oil to the pan, add onion, green chillies and curry leaves.
8) Saute well.
9) Add cooked chicken, red chilly powder, dhaniya powder, garam masala, jeera powder and mix well. 
10) Add a spoon freshly ground dry coconut powder and finally add coriander leaves. 
11) Mix well and dish out.
12) Tasty KONASEEMA KODI VEPUDU is ready to serve.

Tips : 
1) You can add Cashew nuts powder instead of dry coconut powder to make the dish more tasty.
