You might have tasted different halwas like Carrot Halwa, Suji Halwa, etc.. etc., Today I am showing you a special Halwa made with Vermicelli (Seviyan). It sounds new and also tastes new and delicious.

INGREDIENTS :
1 1/4 cup Vermicelli
1/2 cup Vanaspathi / Ghee
1 cup Water
1/2 spoon Ilaichi powder
2 cups Milk
3/4 cups Sugar
Raisins, cashews and Melon seeds - as per your choice
METHOD :
1) In a pan, add vanaspathi / ghee and melt it.
2) Add vermicelli and roast till gets golden.
3) Add cashews, raisins, melon seeds and roast.
4) Takeout the roasted vermicelli in a plate.
5) Now add in the same pan, add a glass of water and add ilaichi powder.
6) Add roasted vermicelli, cook till get soft and till water evaporates.
7) Add milk and cook again on a low flame.
8) finally add sugar and cook till gets thick.
9) Dish out the Vermicelli Halwa and serve.
10) It tastes good when hot and cool too.
Tips :
1) Roast Vermicelli in ghee / vanaspathi till golden to avoid sticking while cooking.
2) Cook on a low flame after adding milk.
