Know about the Recipe :
Chicken is my all time favourite food. We can cook wide range of tasteful dishes with chicken because it absorbs all the spices & masalas easily and tastes wonderful with all combinations. Because of my busy working hours, I always love to cook quick recipes with the available ingredients at home. I bought chicken and already have Gongura (Sorrel Leaves) at home. We regularly prefer the combination of gongura with mutton. But I thought of combining Chicken and gongura and preparing "Spicy Gongura Chicken" today. Gongura gives a tangy taste and Jeera adds superb flavour to my recipe.
I am cooking this dish in village style because in our villages, we cook chicken recipes without marinating chicken. So prior preparation is not needed for my dish today. I directly started the dish by cooking chicken (boneless) in hot oil along with little turmeric powder and salt. Salt helps in releasing the moisture. After 10 minutes, I added garlic cloves, green chillies, few curry leaves and cooked again for 10 min. adding little water. Then added red chilly powder, jeera, coriander leaves+ginger+garlic paste and mixed well. Finally added Gongura / Sorrel leaves and cooked for 2 min. by closing the lid. Before dishing out added coriander powder and sprinkled few coriander leaves and cooked till the water gets evaporate and becomes thick. Tasty, tangy and delicious "SPICY GONGURA CHICKEN" is ready to taste now.
I am giving a step-by-step process along with photos and making video also. Please check out and try it out today. Its simple, easy, quick to make dish. Spicy Gongura Chicken tastes awesome with all kinds of rotis and plain rice. Kids will love the taste and you can even easily pack it for their lunch. Enjoy this authentic, awesome village recipe...! Happy Cooking...!!!
